Ramos-Viñolas, Čilić and Harris headline a thrilling Menorca line-up

The main draws are set for the 2025 Open Menorca ATP Challenger 100, taking place from 31 March to 6 April at Club Tenis Ciutadella.
A dynamic blend of experience, emerging talent and youthful ambition will take to the Menorcan clay in singles, doubles and the qualifying rounds. Backed by top-level sponsors and local institutions, the tournament is gearing up for a vibrant week of international tennis in a truly special setting.
The draw ceremony, held in the heart of Ciutadella, brought together players and institutional representatives alike. Among those in attendance were players Sergio Martos Gornés, Iván López Martos and Felipe Virgili, along with ATP supervisor Ann Laserre, chief umpire Javier Moreno Pérez, tournament director Edi Bentivegna, Biosport Menorca’s general manager Toni Capó, and the president of the Consell Insular de Menorca, Adolfo Vilafranca, who took on the role of ‘lucky hand’ during the event.

The singles draw has delivered a number of eye-catching matchups right from the first round. Britain’s Billy Harris, currently ranked world No. 107, enters the tournament as the top seed and faces a tough opener against Spain’s Albert Ramos-Viñolas, a seasoned competitor with four ATP titles and a Masters 1000 final under his belt.
On the bottom half of the draw, Austria’s Sebastian Ofner (No. 2 seed) and Croatia’s Marin Čilić (No. 3 seed) are on a collision course for a potential semi-final. Čilić brings serious pedigree to the event as the 2014 US Open champion and owner of 21 ATP titles. Also in contention is Spain’s Carlos Taberner, a clay-court specialist and the fifth seed, boasting seven Challenger titles on the surface.
The Spanish contingent is bolstered by Daniel Rincón, former US Open junior champion (2021), and Javier Barranco Cosano, a familiar face on the Challenger circuit, especially in doubles and on clay.
With such depth across the field, this draw promises high-stakes matches from the very first round through to what could be a blockbuster Čilić vs. Ofner semi-final.
Qualifying: Six spots up for grabs
The qualifying rounds kick off on Sunday 30 March, with 24 players vying for six coveted places in the main draw. Spanish player Bernabé Zapata Miralles headlines the entry list as he looks to bounce back following injury and regain momentum.
Top seeds include Hungary’s Zsombor Piros, Germany’s Rudolf Molleker, and Belgium’s Kimmer Coppejans, all players with solid credentials on the international stage.
Spain is strongly represented in qualifying, with Daniel Mérida, Carlos López Montagud, Miguel Damas, Max Alcalá Gurri and Sergio Martos Gornés all aiming to break through. Rising star Izan Corretja, awarded a wildcard by the organisers, will be looking to make a statement.
Often overlooked, qualifying rounds tend to deliver some of the most intense battles and compelling storylines—and this year promises to be no different.
Doubles: Star duos and local favourites
The doubles competition will be just as entertaining. Indian pairing Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth lead the field as the top seeds, but all eyes will be on Andrea and Matteo Vavassori, the Italian brothers invited by the tournament and known for their high-energy, attacking style.
Spanish hopes rest with Carlos Taberner and Nicolás Álvarez Varona, a popular duo sure to generate plenty of support from the local crowd. Meanwhile, second seeds Johannes Ingildsen (Denmark) and David Stevenson (Great Britain) bring a mix of experience and ambition.
Also featuring in the draw are notable partnerships such as Daniel Cukierman & Joshua Paris, and Kaliyanda Poonacha & Sergio Martos Gornés, both capable of springing surprises in the later rounds.
Once again, doubles proves its growing appeal on the Challenger Tour—offering tactical play, quick reflexes and team chemistry in spades.
