More than tennis: Open Menorca turns every day into a unique experience

From sporting legends to food and music, five standout events transform the tournament into a full-day experience on and off the court in Ciutadella
The II Open Menorca ATP Challenger 100 is expanding beyond the competition itself, introducing a programme of events designed to experience the tournament in a different way and establish it as a fully rounded experience.
From Monday 30 March to Friday 3 April, Club Tenis Ciutadella will combine top-level tennis with a parallel schedule aimed at engaging a wide audience and strengthening the tournament’s position within the ATP Challenger Tour.
Under the banner of ‘More Than Tennis’, the organisers have curated five key events across the centre court and the Live Area, with a clear goal: to turn each day into a complete experience both on and off the court.
These experiences will be available exclusively to ticket holders attending each day of play.
Five days, five ways to experience the tournament
The programme kicks off on Monday 30 March with a face-to-face conversation between Pepe Imaz and Alex Corretja, exploring tennis, emotional management and the evolution of the professional game.
Promoted by Agepib, the session brings together two contrasting yet complementary perspectives: Imaz’s personal and philosophical approach, and Corretja’s competitive career as a former world No.2 and one of Spain’s leading tennis figures.
A day later, on Tuesday 31, centre court will host one of the most symbolic moments of the week: the Tribute Ceremony to Manuel Orantes and Alex Corretja, two icons of Spanish tennis.
Orantes, US Open champion in 1975 after one of the sport’s most remarkable comebacks, Roland Garros finalist and Masters champion in 1976—the first Spaniard to achieve it—built a legendary career that included 569 clay-court wins.
Corretja, known for his elegance and fighting spirit, won the ATP Finals in 1998, reached world No.2 in 1999, claimed the Davis Cup and an Olympic bronze medal, and remains one of the most recognisable voices in tennis today.
Both share a unique connection: they were members of Club Tennis de la Salut in Barcelona, which has been twinned with Club Tenis Ciutadella for 50 years.
That link takes on special significance this year, with three milestones aligning: the 50th anniversary of Orantes’ Masters title, the 25th anniversary of Corretja’s Spanish Championships victory in Ciutadella, and the 50th anniversary of the Menorcan club.
Food and music take centre stage at the Tournament Party
Wednesday 1 April marks the tournament’s main social highlight. It opens the гастрonomic programme with the first of two live cooking shows, both supported by ‘Made in Menorca’, an initiative by the Consell Insular de Menorca that promotes the island through its local products and industries.
Young Menorcan chef Pau Sintes, named Europe’s Best Young Chef in 2022, will bring his cuisine live to centre court, showcasing local ingredients through a contemporary lens.
The atmosphere then shifts with music from José Vicens (Los40), a DJ and radio host associated with LOS40 Urban and Del40al1 CocaCola, who will add a vibrant, upbeat dimension to the tournament with an energetic urban set.
On Thursday 2 April, live music continues with a performance by Marc Bosch ‘Saxo’ in the Live Area, reinforcing the open and dynamic spirit of the event.
Menorcan cuisine takes the spotlight in the finale
The гастрonomic programme concludes on Friday 3 April with a live cooking show by José María Borrás, one of Spain’s rising culinary talents and winner of the San Pellegrino Young Chef 2024 award for Spain and Portugal.
His approach—focused on local produce, sustainability and zero waste—strengthens the tournament’s commitment to showcasing Menorcan gastronomy as a core part of its identity.
A tournament that goes beyond the court
The blend of sport, culture and gastronomy reflects a clear strategy: to position the Open Menorca as an event that goes beyond competition and broadens its appeal.
Beyond boosting attendance, the aim is to establish the tournament as a globally relevant event, aligned with the evolution of major international sporting events that combine elite competition with entertainment and experience.
For one week, Club Tenis Ciutadella becomes more than a venue for ATP Challenger matches—it transforms into a vibrant space where tennis meets music, food and shared experiences, reinforcing Menorca’s positioning as a destination linked to sport and high-quality tourism.
