Sergio Martos set to compete at home in a high-level doubles draw at the Open Menorca

The Ciutadella-born player will team up with Zdenek Kolar in a wide-open doubles field featuring seasoned players with strong Challenger Tour credentials
The II Open Menorca ATP Challenger 100 has unveiled its doubles entry list, with local player Sergio Martos Gornés among the standout names. The Menorcan will partner Czech player Zdenek Kolar at the tournament, which takes place from 29 March to 5 April at Club Tenis Ciutadella as part of the ATP Challenger Tour calendar.
While the final draw is yet to be confirmed, the acceptance list already points to a solid competitive level, with players well-versed in the circuit and bringing considerable doubles experience.

Martos Gornés, a local focal point in a competitive pairing
Sergio Martos Gornés (Ciutadella, 1994) is one of the key storylines heading into the doubles event. A doubles specialist and regular on the Challenger Tour, he will compete in front of his home crowd in an edition that further strengthens the tournament’s local identity.
Alongside Zdenek Kolar, the pair hold a combined ranking of 339. The Czech player is also currently listed in the singles entry list, making him — at this stage — one of the few players entered in both draws, pending final confirmation.
Strong Challenger pedigree across the field
The entry list highlights a strong presence of experienced doubles players, many of whom have built consistent careers on the ATP Challenger circuit and are regular contenders in the latter stages of tournaments.
Collectively, the players involved have amassed dozens of Challenger doubles titles — both with regular partners and across different pairings — as well as appearances at ATP Tour level, reinforcing the overall standard of the competition.
Names such as Denys Molchanov, one of the most established doubles players on the circuit, along with proven performers like Alexander Donski, Grégoire Jacq and Siddhant Banthia, add depth and reliability to a field packed with experience.
Tight margins at the top and depth throughout
From a combined ranking perspective, the top of the entry list is closely matched. The pairings Banthia / Donski (250), Goldhoff / Jacq (262) and Paulson / Vrbensky (264) lead the field, suggesting an open contest with little separating the top teams.
They are joined by other experienced duos such as Molchanov / Watanabe, Isaro / Kaliyanda Poonacha, Kielan / Matuszewski and Merino / Negritu, forming a well-balanced and competitive draw.
Doubles adds further strength to the tournament
In its second edition, the Open Menorca ATP Challenger 100 continues to build a well-rounded sporting structure, with the doubles event reinforcing the tournament’s overall growth within the Challenger 100 category.
With the final draw still to be confirmed, the doubles competition is shaping up as one of the key highlights of the week — combining a strong average level with the added local interest of Martos Gornés and a field full of players accustomed to competing at this level.
The tournament is organised with the main sponsorship of the Consell de Menorca and the support of the Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency.
